Mindful Eating
I offer one-to-one mindful eating sessions, run a support group and give talks. My service is for anyone wanting to improve their relationship with food or to set up long-term healthy eating habits.
I'm a very experienced practitioner, with a background in Nutritional Therapy and Health Psychology. I give nutritional, dietary and lifestyle advice to clients who wish to lose weight, and I also give talks and deliver training about nutrition and weight management. Depending on client needs and preferences, I offer one-to-one or small group (3+ people) weight management sessions.
These can be run from the comfort of your own home. I also run Skype sessions for clients living less locally. I offer a dual approach, covering both the nutritional and the psychological aspects of eating. My one-to-one service for individuals offers support to clients who wish to get more control over their eating; it can be helpful for clients who have tried the slimming clubs and now require a much more personalised approach.
My dual approach enables me to help clients to address not only their diet, but also their mindset, namely, their thoughts, feelings and attitudes towards food. I work along the lines of 'baby steps', since change cannot happen overnight. I also avoid giving the client too much to work on at once. This means that the client agrees an action plan with me at each session, one which they find manageable, realistic, helpful and enjoyable.
I do not offer a rapid weight loss solution; instead, I help clients to gradually build new habits that are realistic, enjoyable and sustainable. My approach helps clients to control their weight for life. It is not simply about weight loss- it's about improving the client's relationship with food. I help clients to find a long-term solution to their health and weight management issues, and I do this by empowering clients and teaching them new insights, knowledge and skills- not only about weight management, but about themselves.
Mindful Eating is a comprehensive programme which gives the client valuable insight into their own mindset in relation to food and eating. Unlike a traditional slimming club, where the focus is often on weekly weight loss, Mindful Eating sessions focus on educating the client, making them more aware of not just what they eat, but how and why they eat, improving their overall relationship with food, helping them to feel more in control of their eating, as well as improving the client's knowledge about nutrition in relation to weight management and overall health and well-being.
