The Entertainer to open new Woking Store
The Entertainer, the fastest growing multichannel toy retailer in the UK, will open a new retail outlet in Woking on Saturday 26 October, in Wolsey Place. The retailer, who has seen profits soar in the last four years, is bucking the current trend across the retail industry and has plans to open further stores across the UK throughout 2013.
The 3100ft² Entertainer Woking store, will bring nine new jobs to the town and provide further choice for families shopping at the popular centre. Children stepping into The Entertainer will be transported into a world of wonder, surrounded by all their favourite toys, plus friendly staff will be on hand to help guide families around the new store. Ben10 character, Water Hazard, will also make special appearances throughout the day.
The new store will also celebrate its grand opening with a special trolley dash undertaken by a young service user of local charity, LinkAble, a Woking-based charity providing sports, social and recreational activities for children and adults with a broad range of learning disabilities. Shoppers will also be able to enjoy various special offers when they make purchases of Ben10, Lego, and art and craft products.
Bob Stevens, LinkAble's Managing Director, said: "This is good news for Woking, and we are sure that our service users and their families will enjoy browsing and shopping in this new store. We are very grateful to The Entertainer for choosing LinkAble for this opportunity. We have chosen a fantastic `trolley dasher' and hope they will fill their trolley to the brim with toys and games that our service users can all enjoy during our October half-term and Christmas schemes!"
Gary Grant, managing director and founder of The Entertainer, said: "After experiencing such solid growth across the UK, we are pleased to announce that Wolsey Walk will be home to our first Woking store. We felt Woking and the centre itself offered a strong retail position for our store, as it attracts large numbers of family shoppers who are demanding more toy shopping choice on the high street and within shopping centres. We look forward to bringing joy and wonder to the children of Woking, and we have plans to increase our presence in UK and will announce further plans soon."
