Avoid dangerous driving conditions and work from home with a Sustainable Routes grant
Did you know that 69% of small and medium sized businesses already allow remote or flexible working? And that 89% of remote communication is through email?
We are now well into autumn with winter just around the corner. Mornings are cold, foggy, frosty and sometimes icy. Evenings have drawn in - it's pitch black at 4pm. Snow threatens. Getting to and from work can be hazardous and sometimes dangerous.and it is going to get worse!
Soon, the television weather broadcasters will be advising us to stay at home unless our journey is critical. This will affect you and your employees - if you can't get to work, your business will suffer.
-
Why should you or your staff risk their safety by driving in dangerous conditions?
-
Why not take away the pressure of the "shall I go in or not" debate?
-
Why not simply make it easier for yourself or your staff to work from home?
A Sustainable Routes grant can assist you in this by helping you to:
-
Purchase portable technology, such as laptops or tablet computers
-
Fund a server upgrade - to provide remote login to a network
The Sustainable Routes project is designed to encourage businesses to reassess their travel policies and find smarter ways to travel, ultimately saving the business money and reducing carbon emissions. Each grant (match-funded) is worth up to £1000.
If you have a turnover of £75,000, have been trading for over a year and your business is based in the South East, then register online today at www.sustainableroutes.co.uk. The project is scheduled to run until June 2015 but funds are limited and will be awarded on a first come first served basis.
To find out more, contact Sam Hampton, Project Manager for Sustainable Routes at [email protected] or call 01494 569061.
The project has been funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the South East ERDF Competitiveness Programme 2007-2013
