New public toilets hailed a flushing success
Shoppers to Woking Town Centre won't have to rush home any more to spend a penny, thanks to the opening of new mall level public toilets in Wolsey Place Shopping Centre.
The Mayor of Woking, Cllr Anne Roberts, was joined by Leader of Woking Borough Council, Cllr John Kingsbury, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of the public conveniences (Friday 17 December).
The facilities, which are located on the main Wolsey Walk mall of Wolsey Place Shopping Centre opposite Patisserie Valerie, include ample male and female units, two dedicated disabled toilets and two unisex baby changing facilities. The toilets feature full and half flush options to help reduce water consumption and energy-efficient Dyson hand dryers.
At the opening Cllr John Kingsbury said: "The provision of better public conveniences in Woking Town Centre had been an ambition of the Council for a while and formed a key component of the wider town centre investment programme. These new facilities will offer a clean, safe and spacious environment that we are sure visitors to the town will greatly appreciate."
The new public toilets are located on the ground floor of Wolsey Place Shopping Centre and will be maintained by shopping centre cleaning crews. They are open throughout shopping centre opening hours and are free to use.
