Youth Enterprise Workshops

FREE WORKSHOPS FOR YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS

If you are aged between 16 and 24 years old and thinking of starting a business, you should look no further for the support you need. Surrey Youth Focus, in collaboration with Start Up Woking, is offering three essential workshops to help entrepreneurs get on their feet.

The workshops, held at the C2I Incubator, based in Export House, are led by a variety of business experts and are specifically tailored to provide attendees with the knowledge they need to succeed.

Day 1 of the workshops, `Starting Up', will kick off on Thursday 13 February 2014 at 9:30 am.

This day-long session is practical, and will provide attendees with vital information on starting a business. A fellow young entrepreneur will share his experiences, an expert business advisor will be on hand and attendees can also book a follow-up one-to-one mentoring session.

  • What sort of business might I start?

  • What plans do I need to make?

  • Thinking about the money

  • Budgeting and expenses

  • Practical day-to-day issues

  • Where do I find help?

The final session will allow attendees to learn how to use social media to promote their business. Delivered by experts in the field, this workshop provides an insight into the growing value of social networking.

Cllr Gary Elson, Woking Borough Council's Portfolio Holder for Promoting the Local Economy, said: "These free workshops are such a fantastic opportunity for those young people who are thinking of starting a business to gain valuable help and advice. I'm thrilled that this support is being made available and I would encourage people to book onto the workshops and reap the benefits."

The workshops are free to attend, and you can attend one or all three, depending on your needs.

All workshops are held at the C2I Incubator, Floor 2, Export House, Woking. If you are interested in attending, please contact Surrey Youth Focus for a booking form by emailing [email protected] or calling 01483 453962.

Surrey Youth Focus would like to thank its funders, Wates Family Trust and Comic Relief for their support and Barclays Bank for dedicating their time without charge.
