Youth Enterprise Workshop
On Thursday 13th February Surrey Youth First ran Day 1 of their Business Start Up workshop in association with Start Up Woking and funded by Comic Relief, Wates and Barclays. There was a good turn out of young people all of whom had some great ideas about starting their own businesses and were keen to learn how to get started. Ed Baker who was the trainer on the day shared his experience of working with start up businesses and helped those who attended focus on how to turn their idea into reality.
There was inspiring stuff at lunchtime, when Matthew Joblin from Community Film Unit (a local social enterprise) came in to share his experience of setting up a business at a young age, Matthews story offered an insight into the reality of setting up a business and it was great that he was able to share this with the young people who attended and offer them some encouragement to take the next step.
Emily from Guildford who attended said `I absolutely loved the day workshop and found it extremely beneficial, I am so glad I went! I went home that night and bought my future business name :) I am now making small steps to make my dream business a reality :)'
Day 2 on Social Media and Marketing will be held on Wednesday 16th April at the same location, the C2I Incubator in Woking, for further details please contact [email protected]
