Woking Best Bar None is back!

8 APRIL 2014

Woking Best Bar None is back! Be the best bar none!

Calling all pubs, bars and restaurants in Woking! The Woking Best Bar None Awards 2014 are returning to Woking and from Monday 14 April 2014 premises can apply to be a part of the scheme and be recognised as Woking's best.

Led by Woking Borough Council and supported by the Surrey Alcohol Responsibility Initiative, Best Bar None recognises those pubs, bars and restaurants that go above and beyond to achieve the best for their customers and gives local patrons the chance to vote for their favourite premises during the Woking Advertiser Public Vote stage.

Licensed premises can sign up to the scheme at www.wokingbbn.co.uk and once registered, will be visited by trained assessors. Those meeting the Best Bar None criteria will receive certification, allowing their customers to recognise their achievement via a gold, silver or bronze official window sticker. Those exceeding the Best Bar None criteria also stand a chance of being crowned a winner at an awards evening later in the year, as voted for by a prestigious panel of independent judges.

The scheme, now is in its third year and sponsored by Miller Brands UK, gives premises the chance to win in the following categories:

  • Best Town Centre Pub

  • Best Local Pub

  • Best Bar

  • Best Restaurant

  • Best Food Led Pub

  • Woking Advertiser Public Choice Award

  • Miller Brands Overall Best Bar None Award

  • Services to Licensing Award

Cllr Ashley Bowes, Woking Borough Council's Portfolio Holder for Licensing, said: "I would encourage all local pubs, bars and restaurants to join Woking Best Bar None. It's a chance for them to be recognised for their hard work, to have an insight into how they can improve their standards and to be crowned Woking's best. It's also the chance for local premises to be a part of a national scheme, to develop the skills of their staff and get to meet the best in Woking's licensed trade at the awards event."
