Woking Works Sponsors SDA16

Woking Borough Council has giving its backing to the Surrey Digital Awards 2016.

The local authority will sponsor the Blog: Business category at SDA16, which takes place at the HG Wells Conference & Events Centre in Woking on March 10.

The Surrey Digital Awards is the first and only scheme exclusively dedicated to celebrating the online achievements of businesses, charities and schools from across the county.Woking Borough Council takes a proactive approach to supporting and engaging with businesses using a range of digital media platforms to communicate with its audience.

Andy Pritchard, from the Surrey Digital Awards team, revealed that he was thrilled to have Woking Borough Council onboard.

This is great news for everyone involved and it is being held at HG Wells which is a superb venue at the heart of the borough, he remarked.

Woking boasts an extremely proactive business team at the Council and its great to be working with them.

In 2012 Woking Borough Council launched Woking Works, an information portal for the boroughs business community, which offers advice on matters such as funding applications, skills training and networking.

Woking Works is a collaboration between the Council, local businesses, organisations and Surrey Chambers of Commercee, the Key Supporter of SDA16.

It also provides 1-2-1 advice clinics for start-up businesses and hosts a calendar of events including the annual Working for Woking Breakfast Briefing.
