Woking Joint Committee – working for you
As part of open and accessible local government, Woking Joint Committee is encouraging residents and businesses to contribute to the local decision making process.
Consisting of seven County Councillors and seven Borough Councillors, Woking Joint Committee meets four times a year to discuss and make decisions on issues important to local people. These include activities and support for young people, health and wellbeing, community safety, library opening hours, highway improvements, road safety, speed limits and parking restrictions as well as other local concerns.
Councillors put residents’ interests at the heart of the decisions they make. The opinions of local people and businesses matter when decisions are being taken, and welcome their views.
Held in public, residents and businesses can attend meetings in person to listen to the debate, ask a question or present a petition. Meetings are held at Woking’s Civic Offices from 6pm onwards. Forthcoming meeting dates are:
- 29 June 2016
- 21 September 2016
- 7 December 2016
- 8 March 2017.
Question can either be asked on the night, or in writing if they are emailed to [email protected] by 12noon the Thursday before the meeting. Petitions, which require a minimum of 30 signatures, need to be submitted 14 days before the meeting. Meeting can also be viewed live by visiting www.surreycc.gov.uk/webcasts
