Invotra are Crowned Regional Apprentice Employer of the Year
Woking based technology company Invotra are celebrating after winning ‘Medium Employer of the Year in the South East’ at the 2017 National Apprenticeship awards. The win is the latest in a number of accolades for the intranet software company and digital workplace provider, who were listed in the top 100 apprenticeship employers in 2016, and saw one of their apprentices, Andrew Doyle, win the 2016 apprentice of the year award at the Surrey Business Awards and has been shortlisted to the Nationals in December. Invotra were also winners of the ‘small’ employer category at last year’s London and South- East Apprenticeship Awards.
Invotra are proud of the fact that almost half of their team comprises of current, or ex apprentices. Many of them embark on multiple qualifications, spanning software development, business, project management, and cyber security, and they also get the opportunity to progress up to degree level courses. Invotra’s two longest standing employees are both ex-apprentices themselves, and now lead teams of their own within the business.
Alison Galvin, HR Director of Invotra said, “We’re delighted that the success of our apprenticeship programme has been recognised nationally, by winning this very prestigious award. We are committed to investing in the ongoing development each of our apprentices, and working with our partner QA, who deliver training of exceptional quality.
“Many people still question the value of an apprenticeship over a university degree, but for Invotra, apprenticeships have played a fundamental role in the success of our business. Our apprentices are very highly skilled, committed, enthusiastic and bright, and they all say that the apprenticeship programme was a brilliant pathway for them. We look forward to welcoming on board many future apprentices, and supporting our team with their ongoing professional development.”
Ben Nickolls, Account Manager from Invotra’s apprenticeship training partner, QA, said “We’ve been working with Invotra for the past 6 years, and are delighted that they’ve won another award for their superb apprenticeship programme. The way our programmes have been embedded into the business has been second to none which alongside such varied support, both personally and professionally from Senior Management has developed fantastic individuals. After growing to become integral parts of the team, employees are now building on previously gained Apprenticeships with Degree Apprenticeships 4 years on, really highlighting Invotra’s desire to develop employees, backing up what a fantastic company they are to work for.”
The awards ceremony was held at St Pauls Aldersgate Street, and attended by Alison Galvin, apprentices Ben Taylor and Ryan Taylor from Invotra
