Further stylish dining experiences set to open in Woking

Dining in Woking Town Centre is set to get even tastier with the announcement that two new independent restaurants are preparing to open their doors to diners this summer.

Opening in June, Duke’s Bar & Deli, will serve a deli-style menu from its brand new home in the heart of the newly-transformed Duke’s Court. Diners will be able relax in the landscaped pedestrianised public plaza, which also features one of the largest living ‘green’ walls in the UK.

The following month (July), Island House Woking, will open in Jubilee Square in the former Café Rouge space. Influenced by fresh, global cuisine and inspired by local producers, Island House will serve a breakfast to evening menu, complemented by a comprehensive cocktail list, beers and wines.

Cllr Ayesha Azad, Leader of Woking Borough Council, said: “The opening of these two new eateries further strengthens the choice for residents and visitors. Both new restaurants are well-regarded independent businesses that add something different to the town.

“Combined with Gordon Ramsay Street Burger and Black & Irons, we have one of the strongest restaurant line-ups in the region, making Woking a great place to socialise with friends, family and colleagues as we come out of lockdown.

“Woking is in a strong position as the recovery and return to normality begins. The town centre is ideally suited to the new hybrid model in which people are working more at home, which means they have more time to make the most of what is on their doorstep. Combined with the growing return of office workers, the future for Woking is very positive.”

Gordon Ramsay Street Burger offers signature gourmet burgers and fries, and Black & Irons Bar & Grill’s speciality is chargrilled fine steaks. Both are located in Commercial Way.
