Relax in Woking Shopping’s Summer Garden
Woking Shopping is transforming Jubilee Square into a wonderful Summer garden for everyone to enjoy. As well as beautiful landscaping, there will be free activities and a big screen with colourful deckchairs showing the best of Summer sport and family films!
Jubilee Square will be transformed into an astroturf ‘garden’ area with blossoming seasonal flower planters and rainbow coloured steps. The garden, which will be in-situ until September, will become the base for a range of free activities including table tennis and giant chess – an ideal place for some summer fun!
An area adorned with flowery deckchairs and a giant screen will keep shoppers entertained this Summer. Shoppers can take a break and tune in to all of the Wimbledon action from 28th June until 11th July, followed by the Olympics live in Tokyo from the 21st July – 8th August. Plus, free family friendly films will be played in between the sport, for everyone to enjoy.
There will be lots of opportunities to get the perfect Summer selfie in Woking! A beautiful Wisteria arch will be draped along Mercia Walk to enliven the area, as well as a picture perfect Wisteria bench placed at the entrance to Jubilee Square.
Woking Shopping has partnered with local theatre company, Wizard Productions, to produce a free treasure trail based on The Secret Garden story. Children will be challenged to find the hidden figures around Woking’s magical summer garden. Once they have submitted their completed trail into the secret hidden door, they’ll be entered into the weekly prize draw to win a Secret Garden experience box provided by Wizard Productions. The experience will guide families through the story of The Secret Garden in separate weekly digital episodes, which are accompanied by activities for everyone to complete!
Woking Shopping has ensured that all measures will be in place to keep everyone safe and advise customers to maintain social distancing. The Summer Zone area will be cleaned regularly, with cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer provided in the games area.
