EM3 Launches Free Net Zero Business Support Service
Businesses in Hampshire and Surrey are being helped in the Race to Net Zero with the launch of the Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership and Growth Hub Net Zero Business Support Service.
Every business which engages with the EM3 Growth Hub will be offered a free 30 minute one-to-one advice session with EM3’s Net Zero Sector Specialist, where they will receive information on sustainability and decarbonistion along with signposting to organisations who can carry out carbon audits. The guidance is available to businesses from any sector and is tailored to individual needs.
This service is part of the EM3’s strategic aim to support a move to a low carbon economy and is one of the recommendations in the LEP’s Revive and Renew Action Plan for the area.
EM3 Growth Hub Senior Programme Manager, Jeannie Satchell said:
“This is a crucial step forward in supporting businesses to play their part in the national race to net zero. We’ve listened to business leaders who said they wanted clear advice about how to become more sustainable and created this service in response.
The EM3 Growth Hub is a source of free, trusted advice for thousands of local businesses and the addition of the Net Zero Business Support Service will widen the support available to every business who comes through our door.”
Already, more than 60% of businesses working with the Growth Hub since August have been referred to the service and from sectors as diverse as food retail and professional services. There are future plans to expand the service to provide advice on diversification of land use.
Industrial decarbonisation is a key part of the multi-faceted approach the UK is taking to reducing carbon emissions and slowing the rate of climate change. Earlier in the year the EM3 Annual Conference and AGM was dedicted to the race to net zero and providing more information to businesses about programmes and support.
