MOUNTJOY TO DELIVER HOUSING MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR WOKING BOROUGH COUNCIL
Mountjoy has secured a long-term contract with Woking Borough Council to provide responsive maintenance, void property works, domestic and communal gas boiler servicing to their housing stock. The contract is valued at approximately £1.9m a year for an initial three-year period starting on the 1st April 2022. There is an option to extend for up to seven years.
Woking Borough Council owns and manages approximately 3,750 properties across the borough including ten sheltered housing blocks. The contract with Mountjoy is a key part of a wider transformation plan which will see Woking BC bringing housing management services back in house and establishing a new supply chain to deliver maintenance services.
As part of the mobilisation Mountjoy will be investing in a new office and helpdesk in Woking. They will also be establishing a dedicated team of trade staff and establishing relationships with local suppliers and subcontractors to help deliver the contract – helping to create jobs and new business opportunities in the area.
Tanya Roxborough, Maintenance Director at Mountjoy, commented, “We are delighted to have been selected by Woking BC to deliver their housing maintenance services. This is a really important contract for Mountjoy and we are committed to delivering a high-quality service. We are already working closely with officers at Woking BC to ensure we are ready to go on the 1st of April”
Cllr Debbie Harlow, Woking Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing, said: “Following a rigorous procurement process we are pleased to announce Mountjoy as our new housing maintenance contractor. This new partnership with Mountjoy offers an enhanced service to residents and creates a closer working relationship. This is really positive news for residents who will benefit from a more responsive and effective housing management service.”
